One Day National Seminar at The Dale View College of
Pharmacy and Research Centre
One day national seminar on “Emerging trends in novel drug delivery strategies for treatment and diagnosis of cancer” was conducted on 31-08-2019 in The Dale View College of Pharmacy and Research Centre, Trivandrum. This seminar was sponsored by The Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India and in collaboration with Dr Kalam Smriti International. The chairman Sri.C.Christu Das insisted on the commitment required by the students to pursue a career in research. The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. G.S. Vinod Kumar, Scientist E II, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, who spoke on the topic Novel polymer drug delivery system for cancer. He gave a broad idea of how natural and synthetic polymers can be applied for the specific delivery of drugs in the treatment and diagnostic of cancer. The second session was by Dr. T.T. Sreelekha, Assistant Professor, Regional Cancer Centre. She delivered a talk on Drug loaded polysaccharide metal nanoparticles – A theranostic system for cancer management. Her talk was about how metal nanoparticles can be efficiently applied in the treatment and management of cancers. Afternoon session was conducted by Dr.S.Priya, Scientist E I, National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology. Her talk was on the overview of exosomes mediated drug delivery in cancer. The talk emphasized on how exosomes can be used as an early detection biomarker in cancer. The seminar was attended by around 250 delegates from around 15 pharmacy colleges in Kerala and Tamilnadu.
